THAT'S WHAT I LIKE

In THAT'S WHAT I LIKE the wannabe playboy takes his Enemies on a drunken holiday to the Mediterranean. The result? A cocktail of hedonism, romance and heartbroken philosophy. A pop/rock confection deliciously produced by Enemy #5, Riley McMahon.

The journey begins with, of all things, a Ska number a la Manu Chao. It ends with a reggae tune. In the middle the band takes detours to a First World War battlefield, a middle eastern femme fatale and further tales of heartbreak. There also moments of reflection and even sheer beauty. Plus the album's demented title track.

A world of accordions, mandolins, clarinets, electric guitars, Serge Gainsbourg horns and plenty of groove. The most rakish of all of Spottiswoode's records.
